Important Product Use and Legal Compliance Notice

Straightline Performance products are designed and manufactured for their specifically identified applications. Certain products may be intended exclusively for closed-course competition vehicles that are not registered, licensed, or operated on public roads, public trails, public lands, or other areas where emissions, noise, or equipment regulations apply.

It is the purchaser’s and vehicle owner’s responsibility to determine whether the purchase, installation, possession, and use of a product is legal in the applicable city, county, state, province, or country.

Federal, state, and local laws may prohibit the removal, alteration, bypass, or disabling of emissions-control systems, noise-control systems, safety equipment, or other original vehicle components. A product labeled “Competition Use Only,” “Race Use Only,” or “Closed-Course Competition Only” must not be installed or used on a pollution-controlled vehicle unless its installation and use are permitted by applicable law.

Straightline Performance does not authorize or recommend the unlawful modification of any vehicle or engine. Products must be installed and used only in accordance with their intended application, product instructions, and all applicable federal, state, provincial, and local laws and regulations.

The purchaser assumes full responsibility for the proper selection, installation, and lawful use of each product. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Straightline Performance shall not be liable for fines, penalties, citations, vehicle impoundment, failed inspections, registration issues, warranty claims, property damage, personal injury, or any other consequences resulting from improper installation, misuse, unauthorized modification, or unlawful use.

Product availability does not constitute a representation that the product is legal for every vehicle, location, or application.

Emissions Compliance

The United States Clean Air Act and similar state and local regulations prohibit certain acts involving vehicle and engine emissions-control systems. These restrictions may apply to on-road vehicles as well as certain off-road vehicles and engines.

Unless a product is specifically identified as emissions-compliant for a particular vehicle and application, Straightline Performance makes no representation that the product is legal for use on a pollution-controlled vehicle.

Customers should review each product listing for emissions-related information, including any California Air Resources Board (CARB) Executive Order number, EPA compliance information, or competition-use restriction before installation.

Professional installation by a qualified technician is strongly recommended.

About Proposition 65

California Proposition 65, officially known as the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986, requires businesses to provide warnings regarding significant exposures to chemicals identified by the State of California as causing cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm.

The Proposition 65 chemical list contains more than 900 chemicals and is updated periodically by the State of California.

Straightline Performance products are manufactured from aluminum, steel, stainless steel, brass, metal alloys, rubber, plastics, composites, coatings, adhesives, wiring, electronic components, lubricants, and other materials. Depending on the product, manufacturing process, installation, handling, wear, heat exposure, or maintenance, users may be exposed to one or more Proposition 65-listed chemicals.

A Proposition 65 warning does not necessarily mean a product is unsafe or violates any product safety standard. The warning is intended to inform California consumers that a potential exposure may occur.

Product-Specific Warnings

Where required, Straightline Performance provides Proposition 65 warnings before purchase and with the product in accordance with California law.

A product-specific warning may appear in the following format:

WARNING: This product can expose you to chemicals including [Applicable Listed Chemical], which is known to the State of California to cause cancer and/or birth defects or other reproductive harm. For more information, visit www.P65Warnings.ca.gov.

Dealer, Distributor, and Retailer Notice

Dealers, distributors, retailers, and online marketplaces selling Straightline Performance products into California are responsible for displaying all applicable Proposition 65 warnings before purchase and for maintaining all warning labels and notices supplied with the product.

Warning labels, instruction sheets, and packaging containing Proposition 65 notices must not be removed, altered, or obscured.

Installation and Safety Notice

Performance products may affect vehicle handling, engine performance, emissions, sound levels, component temperatures, durability, and overall vehicle safety.

Improper installation or use may result in component failure, vehicle damage, serious personal injury, or death.

Read and follow all installation instructions before operating the vehicle. Verify all fasteners, electrical connections, fuel system components, control functions, and safety systems prior to operation.

Professional installation is strongly recommended. Inspect all components before every ride or use, and discontinue operation immediately if any component becomes loose, damaged, improperly adjusted, or functions abnormally.

Always operate modified vehicles responsibly and within the limits of the operator, the vehicle, and all applicable laws and regulations.
